About the Cheque Amount in Words Tool

Why must I write the cheque amount in words?
Banks require both the figure and the amount in words. The words are the legal amount and prevent anyone from altering the figure, so they must match exactly.
Should I write "Only" at the end?
Yes. Ending with "Only" marks the end of the amount so no extra words or digits can be added. This tool includes it automatically.
Do I include paise on a cheque?
If the amount has paise, write them too (e.g. "… and Fifty Paise Only"). For round amounts, just the rupees followed by "Only" is enough.
